Dry Cleaning – Scratchcard Lanyard

ナムジュンパイク似のこれが令和２年のビデオ大賞なんだと喉まで出かかったんだけど、だったらビデオ大賞って 4AD ばっかかよ、と妙な按配になるわけで。クリスマスのドライクリーニング。

Dry Cleaning—the London-based quartet of drummer Nick Buxton, guitarist Tom Dowse, bassist Lewis Maynard, and vocalist Florence Shaw—have signed to 4AD and shared their first new song for the label. The track is called “Scratchcard Lanyard” and it arrives with a new music video directed by Rottingdean Bazaar.

Dry Cleaning is Nick Buxton (drums), Tom Dowse (guitar), Lewis Maynard (bass) and Florence Shaw (vocals). Firm friends for years, they only started making music after a karaoke party in 2017 inspired a collaboration. They wrote instrumentally to begin with and six months later Shaw, a university lecturer and picture researcher by day, joined on vocals with no prior musical experience.
