Music became an escape for Greta during lockdown, and her new songs tell us about the feelings of love and longing that became an essential part of the pandemic for the German, Copenhagen based singer-songwriter. The songs follow last year’s successful debut album ‘Ardent Spring’ and together they make up her new album, which will be released on February 4th 2022.
GRETA – Forever We’ll Be Dancing
さいきん聞いたもののなかでいちばんひどかったのがコレでしょうな。ひどい。デンマーク出身のアーティスト Greta Schenk さんによる名義 GRETA。北ドイツで生まれたグレタさんは現在はコペンハーゲンに住んでいて、アバ ABBA やケイトブッシュ Kate Bush のようなクラシカルな王道なポップヒーローに触発されたキャッチーでグルーヴィーな美しいメロディックな曲を作っています。 説明不可能で抽象的な人間関係、生、死、人間の存在と変化について歌っています。グレタシェンクさんは90年代に生まれましたが、彼女がその数十年前に生まれたことは容易に確信できます。 GRETAは、近年私たちを席巻しているディスコシンセポップのリバイバルウェーブの一部です。ひどいもんだ。彼女の華やかなポップソングはレトロな懐かしさを漂わせており、GRETA の音の世界は、テクノでディスコなシンセポップを豊富に備え、ドリームポップの色合いで空気のようなメロディーの周りで宝石を成しています。地方から出てきたばかりの若い女性が薬物中毒になるようなことにはけっしてなりませんのでご安心を。

さいきん聞いたもののなかでにばんめにひどかったのがコレでしょうな。Jane Inc. presents a futurist neon vision of disco-injected pop. ２０１４年結成のアングラテクノギャルユニット、Ice Cream だの、ずんずんと、U.S. Girls ユー・エス・ガールズのツアーメンバーだったりする Carlyn Bezic さんの音楽プロジェクトJane Inc. Melody’s Echo Chamber からの影響が大きそうだけど、シンセのキラキラ感がぷーんと臭う。古臭くて懐かしい臭いがぷーんとするインディーディスコ。
