2016年、アルバム Hope is Never (希望がさっぱりない) でデビュー。MoMA Ps1 などでショーケースを開催、i-D, The Creative Independent でライターとして活躍するテキサス州エルパソ出身でブルックリン郊外在住のミュージシャン René Kladzyk こと Ziemba. 明るげ力強げにズルズル聞こえてきたのが トゥルーロマンチック。

True Romantic は棚上げして、どして「Hope is Never (希望がさっぱりない)」なんだろな、と調べたら、彼女の出身地は、テキサス州エルパソ。メキシコと隣接する国境の街。隣接するメキシコがわの街は行ったことないけどシウダー・フアレス（Ciudad Juárez）そこそこやばい処みたい。彼女のこども時代は国境をこえて行ったり来たり。だったらしい。その国境に公約の壁ができあがり、互いにフェンス越し。う～ん。したのビデオは国境ドキュメンタリー。

西海岸からおひとり追加。Ha Vay は米サンフランシスコ発、１９６０年代と７０年代のレトロなソングライターやパフォーマーからインスピレーションを受けてるインディーポップアーティスト。エテリアルなボーカルがなかなか良いです。幻想的で奇想天外な魔法を彼女の「過剰に活動的な夢の状態」に取り入れています。フツーとは少しちがうテイストの変顔写真をインスタにアップしています。
