Melanie Martinez K-12 メラニー・マルティネスが手掛けた不気味で魅惑的なミュージカル映画。強いけれども繊細な女の子、クライベイビーは不穏な寄宿学校に送り込まれる。そこでは個性がまったく認められていない。魔法の力をもつ友人やリリスという名のエンジェルスピリットガイドの助けを得て、彼女たちは学校の邪悪なスタッフを撃退し、K-12と呼ばれる抑圧的な教育システムを解体するためのパワーを手に入れる。
K-12につづいて、2020年9月にアトランティックからリリースされたメラニーマルティネス４枚目のアルバム「after school」のファーストシングルがこの Copy Cat。ミュージックビデオは自作自演（ K-12 ）。
It starts out with Crybaby walking into class. Chloe (the copy cat) whispers to Kelly and Kelly snickers. It skips to the next day where Crybaby is walking to school with her friends. Crybaby sees that Chloe has dyed her uniform purple and put flowers on the sleeves. The teacher scolds Crybaby for copying Chloe’s look and her test but it was the other way around. The next day, Chloe has Crybaby’s same split hairstyle. Crybaby is sad. And Celeste even asked Chloe the question she wanted to ask Crybaby. Crybaby runs off to the bathroom and sees Tierra in there too. Tierra sys that she can get revenge on Chloe. Tierra turns Chloe into a cat with brown fur and blue eyes. Tierra and Crybaby quickly become friends.

“Copy Cat” is a song by Melanie Martinez featuring Tierra Whack that was released as a stand-alone single on February 10, 2020. It was intended to be featured on her fourth extended play (EP), After School, however, it was later cut and released alone.

上のビデオの使用曲はおなじメラニー・マルティネスのコピーキャット。なんだけど。ご本家メラニー・マルティネスの ムージックビデオよりもパーフェクトブルー版のこっちのほうが１０倍以上（約５００万回）再生されてる。 すげえな。っていうか。メラニー・マルティネス の見た感じもスゴイですがそれ以上にパーフェクトブルーがすげえ。感動です。海外からの評価がすげえ！なのです、このサイコ野郎。
でも、パーフェクトブルーってアニメのことを実はぜんぜん知らないんですよ・・・。おつかれ
